LED Lighting Finance

You've had the lighting survey. Your installer has specified the replacement scheme.

Now let's get it funded in a way that works with the savings.

Start Now

The Survey Is Done, Let's Move Forward

Your lighting specialist has walked the site, counted the fittings, measured the lux levels, and produced a proposal showing exactly what needs replacing and what it will save.

That's the hard part done.

We take that proposal and find the right funding structure. We understand lighting surveys, the difference between a like-for-like replacement and a redesign, the impact of controls and sensors, and why the savings projections are credible.

That means we can present your project to lenders in a way that makes sense.

We Understand the Commercial Case

LED lighting upgrades typically deliver energy savings of 50% to 80% compared to fluorescent or discharge lighting. The savings are predictable, measurable, and start immediately.

That makes LED one of the strongest commercial cases in energy efficiency, and one of the easiest to fund.

We know what a realistic savings projection looks like, and we know how to present it to lenders who may not understand the technology as well as your installer does.

Your Installer Stays in Place

We don't supply lighting. We don't recommend alternative products. We don't get involved in the technical specification. Your installer has done that work, we respect it and build the finance around it.

For installers: we're the people who get your projects signed off. We bring funding to the table, not competition.

Finance That Fits the Payback

Most commercial LED projects have a payback period of 2 to 4 years. We structure finance so that monthly repayments sit within the monthly energy savings, meaning the project can be cash-neutral or even cash-positive from day one.

Terms typically range from 3 to 7 years, giving you flexibility to match the finance to your cash flow preferences rather than being forced into a structure that doesn't suit your business.

Part of a Bigger Programme?

LED lighting is often the first step in a wider energy efficiency programme. If you're also looking at PFC, HVAC upgrades, voltage optimisation, or solar, we can explore funding the whole programme within one facility.

One application, one approval, one set of repayments.

But if lighting is the only project right now, that's perfectly fine. It's a strong standalone case.

What We Need From You

• The lighting survey or proposal from your installer

• A recent electricity bill (helps evidence current consumption)

•Basic information about your business (limited company, trading history)

That's enough to get started.

No commitment at this stage, just a conversation about what's possible.

Frequently asked questions

Most commercial LED upgrades deliver energy savings of 50% to 80% compared to older fluorescent or discharge lighting. The exact figure depends on your current fittings, operating hours, and whether the new scheme includes controls such as occupancy sensors or daylight dimming.

Your installer's proposal should include a specific savings calculation based on your site.

Most commercial LED lighting projects pay for themselves within 2 to 4 years through reduced energy consumption. Sites with long operating hours (warehouses, factories, 24-hour operations) often see payback in under 2 years.

Your installer's proposal will include a payback calculation specific to your site.

Yes, in many cases. The predictable energy savings from LED upgrades provide a clear repayment mechanism that lenders recognise.

For projects with strong savings evidence and established businesses, unsecured finance is often available.

Not necessarily, but funding the whole scheme in one go is usually more cost-effective and simpler to administer. Phased installations can be accommodated if needed, for example, if operational constraints mean certain areas need to be done at different times.

Your installer will have designed the replacement scheme to meet or exceed current lux levels.

In many cases, LED lighting actually improves light quality, better colour rendering, more even distribution, and less flicker.

The survey should confirm that the proposed scheme meets relevant standards for your workspace type.

LED lighting may qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances under the Energy Technology List, providing 100% first-year tax relief on qualifying products. Additionally, the Annual Investment Allowance can be used for lighting upgrades.

Your accountant can confirm which reliefs apply to your specific installation.

Emergency lighting conversions and intelligent controls (occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting, DALI systems) can all be included within the same finance facility as the main lighting upgrade.

These elements often improve the overall savings case by reducing unnecessary operating hours.

Quality commercial LED fittings typically have a rated life of 50,000 to 100,000 hours. For a site operating 12 hours per day, that's roughly 11 to 23 years before replacement is needed.

This far exceeds typical finance terms, meaning the equipment continues delivering savings long after the finance is repaid.

Internal lighting replacements don't require planning permission. If your project includes external lighting (car parks, building facades, signage), your installer should confirm whether any consents are needed, particularly in conservation areas or for listed buildings.

There's no practical upper limit, large warehouse, factory, or multi-site schemes in the £100,000+ range are well suited to structured finance and often present the strongest commercial cases.

Yes. LED lighting is frequently combined with PFC, voltage optimisation, HVAC upgrades, or solar within a single finance facility.

This approach simplifies administration and can strengthen the overall case by presenting a larger total saving to lenders.

We need a formal proposal with specified products and projected savings before we can explore funding.

If your installer is still at the quotation stage, that's fine, come back to us once the survey is complete and the numbers are confirmed.

We're happy to have an initial conversation in the meantime.
